Analysis Of The Movie Bummer - 1366 Words

Bummer in the Summer Being literate has been, let’s just say an uphill battle for me. I say â€Å"battle† in the most literal sense possible because I am dyslexic. Dyslexiais defined as a learning disability that impairs a person s fluency or comprehension accuracy in being able to read. With that being said, reading has not been easy for me and as a result is not my favorite thing to do. This is a major part of my relationship with literacy, and life in general. Having dyslexia has made me realize how much of a role language and literacy plays in everyday life. My parents are both caring and perceptive people, and thank goodness they were. I owe them a lot for all they do for me. They would sit and read to me all the time; some of my favorite books were The Giving Tree and Goodnight Moon. When I would read to them, they quickly realized that I was adding words in the stories, or changing around words in the sentences. In kindergarten, our school gave us all mandatory ey e exams and I did not pass. My parents were so relieved that they thought they had found the reason behind my lack of reading skills and that everything would be great after we got my eyes fixed. So I went and I got my brand new purple wire frame glasses and I was so excited to show them off to my classmates. I thought my glasses were going to make me read like everyone else, but they didn’t. Now I was feeling confused and embarrassed, not fully understanding why I had so much trouble reading compared to myShow MoreRelatedWilliam Golding s Lord Of The Flies1126 Words   |  5 PagesQuestion 2: In Lord of the Flies, there’s a scene where one of the main characters, Simon has a conversation after he has passed, out with Lord of the Flies. Alliances International Network Development-Myassignmenthelp.Com

Question: Discuss About The Alliances International Network Development? Answer: Introduction: Air travelling is the facility that is providing the convenience travel to the customers these days. It has grown to that extent that no big city has remain untouched. It is also the facility that has supported the activities of globalization and tourism all over the world. It is the report that provides the description about the strategic analysis of Singapore airlines. Singapore airlines are the company that has started its operation in 1947 as Malayan airlines (Heracleous and Wirtz, 2010). It was the joint venture between the Singapore and the Malaysian government. In the year 1965, Malaysia and Singapore separated and both decide to separate the operation of the airlines as well. Singapore airlines have come into the industry in the year 1972. The company struggled and today is one of the leading firms in the industry and is considered as the premium airline facilities in Singapore. The report discusses about the internal and the external analysis of the company along with some o f the strategic options that can be implemented to have more business. External analysis of Singapore airlines It is the technique that has been used to conduct the external analysis of the company to provide the information about the impact of various external factors on the companys functioning. Political factors: political factors include the impact of the government legislation and the change in the policies by the government. It has been analysed tat Singapore airlines is backed up the Singapore government as it is promoted by the government entity Temasak Holdings thus government always take decision in favour of the company (Heracleous and Wirtz, 2012). Economic factors: Economic factors include the factors related to fluctuation in the interest rate and tax rate. It has been analysed that Singapore is the place with stable economic and the Singapore dollar is also strengthen in recent years (Heracleous and Wirtz, 2014). As the economy is stable thus it also helps the people to increase their purchasing power and thus customers prefer to travel by sir rather than other means. Social factors: changes in the demands and the trend sin the society affect the choice and purchase decision of the customers. In the year of 2002, one of the flights has crashed which resulted in bad image of the company but airline has managed to balance the situation by offering compensation to the relatives and family of the people injured or dead in the case (Eiseman, 2011). Technological factors: technology is the factors that affect each and every industry now a day. Thus, airline industry also gets affected by the change and advancement in the technology. Singapore airline is very much updated with the technological tools (Freeman,2010). The company was the first to install productivity suite for the passengers benefits. The company is making efforts in providing great and hi tech atmosphere to the passengers in and outside the flight (David, 2011). Legal factors: any changes in the regulatory framework of the industry affect the functioning of the company in that industry. As discussed that Singapore airlines is backed up by the government thus many a times the legal restriction does not affect the company negatively (Hitt, Ireland and Hoskisson, 2012). Environmental factors: Singapore airlines are considered as the company that is very much sustainable in nature. It is the company that is certified with ISO for environmental management system of the company. The company also believes in maintaining the balance between the use of resources and the availability (Wheelen and Hunger, 2011). Porters five forces: It is the technique that helps in analysing the factors that are related to the industry. Threat of substitute: MODERATE It has been analysed that the threat of Singapore airlines is not very low and not very high. This s because it is the company that operates in the airline industry and the people who needs to travel to long distances has to travel by air (Hesterly and Barney, 2010). As far as other travelling mediums are considered, they can provide facilities for travelling in cheap prices and substitute can be done. Threat of rival: HIGH Although Singapore airlines is one of the leading airlines in the country but there are many other airlines that provides air flying traveling to the customers with low process such as European airline, Asian airlines etc. the company provide its services at very high price and this may sometimes against the company but the profit margin of the company is always high as compared to other competitors (Doyle, 1990). Threat of new entrant: LOW Threat of new entrant is very low because of the government interferences in the airline industry. This industry also requires great amount of seed capital to set up the business which is not that easy to spend (Merkert and Hensher, 2011). This is the industry that can only earn profit at large scale because economies of scale support the many to reduce its operating cost per unit. Bargaining power of buyers: HIGH In this case the bargaining power of the customers or the need users are high because they have many alternatives and substitutes available for them,, if the company set their one prices then customers do not thing again to switch the brad. The customers in the airline industry are not that much loyal, it is their convenience that supports their decision to choose the airline and not their loyalty for the brand (Wirtz, Heracleous and Pangarkar, 2008). Bargaining power of suppliers: HIGH Even the supplier power in this industry is very high. This is because the dependency of the companies on suppliers is high. If the fuel prices are increased by the suppliers then it affect the price of the air tickets as well and the companies do not have choice other than this. Internal analysis: It is the technology that helps in analysing the companys internal functions it provides the detailed description about the strength and weakness of the company along with the opportunities and that available for the company. Strengths: Trendsetter: It is the company that has set many trends in the airline functions such as provision of drinks and meals ta the flights, audio and video services etc. Revenue: it has been analysed that the company has consistent sales profits and revenue since years. The company is earning high profits and is one of the leading firms in the industry. Weakness: Shares in Tiger airways: it has been identified that Singapore airlines had 40% stake in the tiger airlines which is experiencing loss from 5 years. This acts as the weakness for the company and for its profits as well (Nair, Palacios Fernndez and Ruiz Lopez, 2011). Restricted to limited areas: The Company is trying hard to get access all over the world though their airports with other companies but still have restrictions in covering some of the areas. Opportunities: Low cost operations: It has been analysed that the customers wants everything at very low cost ad Singapore airlines is serving at very premium prices. Thus investing more in the Scoot ltd. will help the company to operate as low fare carrier in the industry. Expanding the partnership: it is a very big opportunity for the company to enter the market by the practice of joint venture with other companies (Tugores-Garca, 2012). This helps the company to enter easily into the new market without focusing on developing the brand image or entering with the new name. Threats: Rising fuel prices: It has been analysed that the fuel prices are raising day by day and this affect the functions of the airline industry directly. This is because of the fuel price faces kind of fluctuation then the airline companies also have to make changes in their flight tickets and other services which may affect their image in the market. Competition from low fare carriers: It has been analysed that the company like Singapore airlines is serving the customers with premium prices and with premium services. However, the customers look for the travel facilities that provide the services in low price. Thus, the company has to face competition from the low carriers service in the industry (Alamdari, 2002). Strategic options: Investment in Scoot: Scoot is the project of the company that is into low price services. This helps the company to fight with the low price fare carriers in the industry. Invest more in scoot project results in acquiring direct market segments by the company. The company can easily provide services to the customers who want premium services and also serves the customers who want low cost services. Although the company is using the project for facing the competition in the market but still not focusing on the services and the dual strategy of achieving cost leadership along with differentiation helps the company to have more profits along with large customers base all over. Partnership: It is the vest and the very easy way to enter the new market. this is because when the new company in the airline industry enters the new market they have to accompany barriers such as legal barriers, government pressure, market customization, change in strategies etc. this is because they have to make alterations in their processes according to the local market which is really hectic. Partnership can helps the company enter the new market easily (OConnell and Williams, 2005). The company need not to worry about making changes in their system and prices as well as there will be no issues of developing the brand name in the new market as the associated company is already serving the local customers of the new market. Recommendations: As per the discussion of the strategic framework of the company and the options available in front of the company, the need of hour for the company is to compete with the low cost airline companies; this is because they are taking the market share of the Singapore airlines by serving the customers at very low cost. As discussed that airline industry customers are not brand loyal and the switching cost for them is also not very high thus they can easily switch other brand as per their convenience, thus, it is required by Singapore airlines to be the convenient option for the customers rather than the high priced luxury option. Customers generally want to avail the services at low prices. They can compromise the services bit not on the price thus it is required by Singapore airlines to focus on its project of Scoot that is related to the low price services of the company. Conclusion: It has been concluded from the report that Singapore airline is one of the leading airline companies in the country. It is serving the customers with high legal factors affect the company in price premium services. As per the analysis of the industry and the external factors, it has been analysed that several factors such as political, economic, social, environmental, technological factors affect the companys functioning. The industry analysis suggests that the company has threats with rivals and substitutes but the new entrant is not a threat for the firm. The bargaining power of suppliers as well as the buyers is high in this case. The company is the leading firms and thus have effective image in the industry but the company is facing competition from the low-cost operators. Thus, it has been recommended to the company that it has to implement some strategies such as investing the in the project scoot that is already running by the company which allow the customers avail the servic es at low prices. It has also been recommended to the company to make partnership with other firm to enter the new market. References: Alamdari, F., 2002. Leadership Approach Paper †Behavioral Approach Essay Example

Leadership Approach Paper – Behavioral Approach Paper Leadership Approach Paper – Organizations depend on the management and leadership skills of individuals in order to be successful. Leaders do not have to be managers but are equally important. Leaders are individuals who possess traits, behavior and abilities to influence others to accomplish tasks and other needed objectives for the company. Leadership is defined as â€Å"the ability of an individual to influence, motivate, and enable others to contribute toward the effectiveness and success of the organization. . . .† (House et al. , 1999, pg. 184). According to Yuki, G. 2010) there are five different leadership approaches that are being researched. These five approaches are: 1. Trait approach 2. Behavior approach 3. Power-influence approach 4. Situational approach 5. Integrative approach This paper analyzes the behavioral approach and includes strengths and weaknesses of that approach as well as an example of this leadership approach used in an organization. Behavior al leadership approach The behavioral approach started in the early 1950’s due to the discouragement of researchers with the trait approach. This approach focuses on the behavior of leaders and the way they â€Å"did† and accomplished tasks. Different patterns of behavior were grouped together and labeled as styles. This became a very popular activity within management training – perhaps the best known being Blake and Mouton’s Managerial Grid (1964; 1978)† (Doyle Smith, 2011). The four main styles in regard to the behavioral approach research by Doyle Smith 2011 are: concern for the task, concern for the people, directive leadership and participative leadership. Personal example of use of this leadership approach Looking at all five different approaches of leadership styles, the behavioral approach is the one approach I am personally most familiar with. Other than traits of people, behavior can be learned. The learning capability of this approach is the biggest advantage and strengths present. A person can change behaviors and learn new ones which lead directly into the weaknesses of this approach. It is a not an easy task to change behavior, especially if a person is not interested in change. This is approach seems to best fit my personal leadership approach. Looking back at my previous employment as a financial associate at Boone County National Bank, I can relate to the definition of the behavioral approach. I was always concerned about given tasks and people. A great example is the way I used to deal with my customers. I was friendly, concerned with their business and ensured that they were well taken care of. By being concerned and open minded, I completed sales and other branch needed tasks without pushing or forcing myself on someone. With a combination of traits and behavior me and my colleagues made a great team and were able to complete all tasks on time, efficiently and effectively as well as satisfy all of our customers and managers. Looking back over the accomplishments of the branch I worked in as well as my personal accomplishments, I feel proud of what I have helped accomplish. Conclusion Understanding the difference between effective management and effective leadership is important. Leaders are not always born leaders; they can be formed into leaders if that is what they want. All five leadership approaches combined would form the perfect leader but each individual has special traits and behaviors that can make one into a leader. The behavioral approach is one of the few approaches that can be learned and it is amazing what a difference in behavior can do for someone. Reference Doyle, M. E. , Smith, M. K. (2011, December 01). Ada essays

Ada essays Throughout the history of the development of computers, there are many instrumental figures .For the most part, when researching about the pioneers of computing, just like various other scientific areas, one wouldnt find many women in the discussion. However, one very important exception is Ada Byron Lovelace. An English mathematician, Lovelace is known by many as the original computer programmer. Ada Byron, Countess of Lovelace, was born on December 10, 1815. Her parents were a woman named Anne Isabella Milbanke and the famous poet Lord Byron, well known for scathing criticisms of Britains society. Unfortunately, Lord Byron never played a role in his daughters life, because shortly after Adas birth, Anne asked for a separation from Lord Byron, and shortly thereafter, Byron left for Italy and never saw his daughter again (he died in Greece fighting the Turks when Ada was 8) . However, despite having no real relationship with one another, people who knew Ada and Lord Byron talked of the similarities between the two: their looks, the fact they both had great achievements in their lives, and that they both died at the age of 36. Anne Isabella Milbanke was strongly determined to make sure that her daughter did not grow up to be a poet like her famous father. To be sure that Ada did not become a poet, Anne had her tutored in mathematics and music. At the age of 17, Ada met and befriended Mary Somerville, a mathematician who published a book about mathematical astronomy entitled The Mechanism of The Heavens. It was through this friendship that Ada met Charles Babbage in 1833. When Ada met Babbage, he had already achieved acclaim for inventing the Difference Engine, a device designed to handle complicated math problems. She and Babbage fostered a friendship, and in 1834, Babbage went to work on the Analytical Engine, which was to read data from punch cards, store data, and perform arit ...

Origins of the ‘Lisp’ of Spain

Origins of the ‘Lisp’ of Spain If you study Spanish long enough, sooner or later youll hear a tale about Spanish King Ferdinand, who supposedly spoke with a lisp, causing Spaniards to imitate him in pronouncing the z and sometimes the c to be  pronounced with the th sound of thin. Oft-repeated Story Merely an Urban Legend In fact, some readers of this site have reported hearing the tale from their Spanish instructors. Its a great story, but its just that: a story. More precisely, its an urban legend, one of those stories that is repeated so often that people come to believe it. Like many other legends, it has enough truth- some Spaniards indeed do speak with something that the uninformed might call a lisp- to be believed, provided one doesnt examine the story too closely. In this case, looking at the story more closely would make one wonder why Spaniards dont also pronounce the letter s with a so-called lisp. Heres the Real Reason for the ‘Lisp’ One of the basic differences in pronunciation between most of Spain and most of Latin America is that the z is pronounced something like the English s in the West but like the unvoiced th of thin in Europe. The same is true of the c when it comes before an e or i. But the reason for difference has nothing to do with a long-ago king; the basic reason is the same as why U.S. residents pronounce many words differently than do their British counterparts. The fact is that all living languages evolve. And when one group of speakers is separated from another group, over time the two groups will part ways and develop their own peculiarities in pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary. Just as English speakers talk differently in the U.S., Canada, Great Britain, Australia, and South Africa, among others, so do Spanish speakers vary among Spain and the Latin American countries. Even within one country, including Spain, youll hear regional variations in pronunciation. And thats all were talking about with the lisp. So what we have is not a lisp or an imitated lisp, just a difference in pronunciation. The pronunciation in Latin America is no more correct, nor less, than that in Spain. There isnt always a specific explanation of why language changes in the way it does. But there is a plausible explanation given for this change, according to a graduate student who wrote to this site after the publication of an earlier version of this article. Heres what he said: As a graduate student of the Spanish language and a Spaniard, being confronted with people who know the origin of the lisp found in most of Spain is one of my pet peeves. I have heard the lisping king story many times, even from cultured people who are native Spanish speakers, though you will not hear it come from a Spaniard. Firstly, the ceceo is not a lisp. A lisp is the mispronunciation of the sibilant s sound. In Castilian Spanish, the sibilant s sound exists and is represented by the letter s. The ceceo comes in to represent the sounds made by the letters z and c followed by i or e. In medieval Castilian there were two sounds that eventually evolved into the ceceo, the à § (the cedilla) as in plaà §a and the z as in dezir. The cedilla made a /ts/ sound and the z a /dz/ sound. This gives more insight into why those similar sounds may have evolved into the ceceo. Pronunciation Terminology In the above student comment, the term ceceo is used to refer to the pronunciation of the z (and of c before  e or i). To be precise, however, the term ceceo refers to how the s is pronounced, namely the same as the z of most of Spain- so that, for example, sinc would be pronounced like roughly think instead of like sink. In most regions, this pronunciation of the s is considered substandard. When used precisely, ceceo doesnt refer to the pronunciation of the z, ci or ce, although that error is often made. Other Regional Variations in Pronunciation Although differences in the pronunciation of the z (and sometimes c) are the most well-known of the geographical differences in Spanish pronunciation, they arent the only ones. Another well-known regional variation involves yeà smo, the tendency, common almost everywhere, for the ll and the y to share to share the same sound. Thus, in most areas, pollo (chicken) and poyo (a type of bench) are pronounced alike. But in parts of South America, the sound of the ll can be something like the s in measure, also called a zh sound. And sometimes the sound can be something like the j or sh of English. Other regional variations include the softening or disappearance of the s sound and a merging of the l and r sounds. The cause of all these variations is much as the same as for the regional variations in the z- isolation of some speakers can lead to diverging pronunciations. Key Takeaways Languages such as English and Spanish that cover wide geographical areas tend to develop regional differences in pronunciation.Such a natural change in regional pronunciation- and not a long-ago royal edict as is sometimes believed- is responsible for the z (and c before e or i) being pronounced differently in Latin America than in Spain. Those used to the Latin American pronunciation should not think of the pronunciation of Spain ans being inferior, or vice versa- differences exist, but neither type of Spanish is inherently better.

Conflict and emotions Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Conflict and emotions - Essay Example When the older brother hears the news, he rushes to see his younger brother at the hospital and realizes that he was married to a man. This was shocking news though it is clear that the older brother already knew about his brother's sexual orientation. The words spoken by the dead brother's lover clearly indicate this: "Forgive yourself for not wanting to know him/after he told you. He did." (1. 34-35). It means that these two brothers were at odds with each other when he came out of the closet. The conflict is all about discrimination and the way people treat those who they consider different. Different doesn't mean bad or evil, it just represents diversity and variety of approaches to life. This is what the poem is trying to tell us. The poem also elucidates the challenges that gay people have to encounter in their desire to live their lives their way. The commitment of a gay couple is shown to be even more intense because there are so many odds against them. The straight brother i s unable to grasp this as he wonders ""How could anyone's commitment be deeper than a husband and wife" (1.28) He cannot fathom the mystery. He goes back to his sheltered life where he knows his children will not be targeted or discriminated against. The same conflict of discrimination runs in the other poem, Tu Do Street but h

Sir Richard Branson, Chairman, Virgin Group, Ltd Case Study

Sir Richard Branson, Chairman, Virgin Group, Ltd - Case Study Example In the business circles, the talk is there may be not many business sectors, in which Virgin has not made his mark. â€Å"Conceived in 1970 by Sir Richard Branson, the Virgin Group has gone on to grow successful businesses in sectors ranging from mobile telephony, travel, financial services, leisure, music, holidays and health & wellness.† (Virgin, n. d.). Among other factors, this optimal growth is primarily due to the leadership of Richard Branson, particularly the combination of transformational as well as authentic style of leadership. Under these style, leaders will provide the employees under them maximum autonomy to plan as well as implement the various organizational processes. (Avolio and Yammarino, 2002). By adopting decentralization structure or even democratic form of management, these authentic as well as transformational leaders will productively involve employees in all stages of organizational management, giving them optimum responsibilities. This form of leade rship was prominently visible in Branson, when he launched those 400 odd companies. When an idea for a business arises in his mind or comes from others, Branson starts that enterprise by maintaining a controlling interest in it, and then will manage it in the initial phase. After the company starts to function in a steady manner, he will delegate leadership roles to the second rung leaders and will move on. This process of delegation and productively involving the employees was pointed out by Branson himself. He stated, â€Å"I come up with the original idea, spend the first three months immersed in the business so I know the ins and outs and then give chief executives a stake in the company and ask them to run it as if it’s their own,† (Sukhiy, 2007). This combination of authentic and transformational leadership styles can be aptly applied in United States, because with most of the prospective employees coming out of the current effective academic environment exhibiti ng entrepreneurial skills as well as willingness to take responsibilities, this style can be aptly applied business leaders in U.S. In addition, as these leadership styles can elevate the motivation levels of the employees and bring out their best, it can be adopted. Thus, if these leadership styles are followed in U.S., organizations there can diversify or expand their operations optimally, as the leaders can initiate new processes and just oversee them, by giving maximum responsibilities to their employees, who will take it to the logical and positive end. 2. Recommending a different leadership style that would make Branson an even more effective leader. Although from the above discussion of Branson’s leadership traits it is clear that he has maximally exhibited effective traits, there are room for improvement in some of his traits. One of the optimal traits of Branson is having a great vision. Because of such a vision, Branson takes high number of risks, when it comes to l aunching new companies or products or services. That is, without fully analyzing the product’s feasibility and success, Branson has impulsively launched many products or services, and sizable of them have ended in failures. Some of the examples, Virgin Cola, launched as a competitor to Coca-Cola,

Castle’s Family Restaurant Business Plan Essay Example for Free

Castle’s Family Restaurant Business Plan Essay Castle’s Family Restaurant is a medium sized business of approximately 300-340 employees with eight restaurants in the Northern California that is currently facing issues related to HR administration. Jay Morgan, the HR manager has to travel weekly to each restaurant location in order to take care of scheduling, recruiting, hiring, and answering employees’ questions. His biggest issue, however, is related to Payroll Administration since Jay Morgan is currently using an Excel spreadsheet with a computer application to print payroll checks manually instead of using automated HRIS software to assist on payroll activities to all employees. In fact, Jay Morgan needs to implement a HRIS Payroll software system to manage payroll information in order to provide fast, accurate and efficient payroll services to all restaurant employees while staying in compliance with industry regulations. HRIS Payroll type of software will definitely provide more accurate and efficient results to what concerns to calculation of employee’s rates differentiation for full and part time employees, hours worked and missing hours, taxes deduction, etc. A efficient payroll software will also automate all these functions that will be easily be managed from anywhere, which means that Jay Morgan will no longer have to travel to all restaurant location to take care of employee’s payroll related issues or inquiries. He also will not have to use an Excel spreadsheet and a computer application to print payroll checks because he can now offer direct deposit option, so employees can have the convenience of having their paychecks automatically deposited into their checking accounts at their payday. The use of HRIS Payroll type of software to be implemented will definitely make a significant difference on HRIS management of Castle’s Family Restaurants. HRIS VENDOR CHOICE A variety of payroll vendors is available in the market to assist Jay Morgan  to better manage all restaurants employees’ payrolls. This assessment however has the purpose to compare two vendors and indicate the most suitable for Castle’s Family Restaurant. 1) Payroll Cafe is a software package designed for all company sizes and a variety of industries that provides automated payroll tools to take care of employees’ payrolls, direct deposits, taxes deductions, etc. â€Å"Payroll Cafe Software is a Windows software package that includes a relational database backend to maximize single data entry which applies in multi-state, multi-location, and multi-department corporations.† (Payroll Cafe) In fact, Payroll Cafe Software offers efficiency and accuracy with their easy to use package, with technical support and development of a Certified Payroll Professional. (Payroll Cafe) Castle’s Family Restaurant can purchase the Payroll Cafà ©-Restaurant version, which is the software specific for restaurants, which includes in/out tips calculations, etc. More details for Payroll Cafe can be seen on link below: http://www.payrollcafe.com/index.htm 2) Paycom is another payroll vendor that offers web-based payroll services to manage employee data and process payroll quickly and accurately. Paycom software processes payroll, runs reports and accesses data regarding to employees Payroll, Time and Attendance, HR, Background Checks, Benefit Administration and COBRA Compliance. Paycom also supports storage of all payroll and HR information in a single database that offers more comprehensive reporting options with consistent data. (Paycom) More details for Paycom can be seen on link below: http://www.paycomonline.com/services/payroll-services/ Although both software vendors can be very beneficial to Castle’s Family Restaurant’s payroll administration, as HR consulting firm we suggest the implementation of â€Å"Paycom† opposed to â€Å"Payroll Cafà ©Ã¢â‚¬ because Paycom offers more payroll features than Payroll Cafe and Paycom is also a payroll software specifically developed for restaurant needs and provides all tools necessary to processes all restaurant-related payroll functions. Payroll Cafà © also offers a version of this software specific for restaurants, but it is not as complete as the one offered by Paycom. Paycom offers a variety of services with online convenience, which means that Jay Morgan will no longer have to travel to each location weekly to take care of scheduling, recruiting, hiring, and answering questions for employees. Paycom offers free training at client’s location and 24/7 live agent assistance to assist Jay Morgan with any inquiry he may have regarding to payroll taxes, time and attendance, garnishments, or a general software question. Payroll Cafà © does not offer training or 24/7 assistance- only regular business hours assistance regarding to software use, which is a downfall since Jay Morgan might need assistance after hours or weekends as well. Both vendors offer good and affordable pricing, but Paycom also has the convenience of â€Å"pay as you go† without upfront software costs or annual costs increase, which is not offered by Payroll Cafà ©. In fact, Paycom is definitely the best choice of HRIS vendor for Castle’s Family Restaurant since it will create a more efficient process for payroll issues and will also assist Jay Morgan with data management for all 300-340 employees, running payroll from anywhere and tracking employee information, such as Liquor Licenses, Permits, Training, I-9 filings, Workers’ Comp injuries, OSHA, FMLA, EEO information, disciplinary actions, turnover reasons, etc, which is not offered by Payroll Cafà ©. (Restaurant Payroll Services) Jay Morgan will no longer have to use an Excel spreadsheet and a computer application to print payroll checks because Paycom will automate all these processes, along with the option for direct deposit, so employees can have their paychecks automatically deposited into their checking accounts at payday. Paycom software will also integrate payroll with POS system, receive free new hire reporting, manage garnishments, comply with minimum wage, and claim tax credits with Paycom’s FICA Tax Tip Credit Report. In addition, earnings and deductions can be customized to the unique needs of restaurant, tips as In/Out earnings can be easily managed and Paycom’s Standard Reports can help Jay Morgan to manage turnover, overtime, labor distribution, and workers’ compensation. (Restaurant Payroll Services) The variety of easy to use functions and features offered by Paycom makes a great difference when  compared to Payroll Cafà © which offers accurate, efficient, but limited restaurant related features. As such, Paycom is a more complete software package and its implementation will eliminate previous payroll issues. Paycom can be easily managed from Jay Morgan’s office with the efficiency and variety of automated features offered by this HRIS software. REFERENCES: Kavanagh, Michael, Thite, Mohan. (2009). Russias Economic Transition :: Russian History Historical Communism Essays

Russia' Economic Transition In August of 1991, the collapse of the communist system in the USSR and it's neighboring republics occurred. Out of the smoke emerged fifteen new republics and a union known as the Commonwealth of Independent States. These new regimes faced formidable obstacles. The collapse brought massive inflation which in turn forced the economy into a spiraling decline and a state of almost worthless value. Many people were quick to point the finger at their communist past, and even more eager to lay blame. Traditional communist ideology was to "provide for every individual an equal amount of goods and services, thus creating a state of equality amongst the populous" (Leveler, 16). Many people felt as if their current hardships could be blamed on the communists and their economic policies, specifically their "Core-Periphery" plan. The communist sponsored "Core-Periphery" economic policy that was evident in Russia was quite simplistic in nature. The theory, traditionally used to describe inter-continental trading and production, was adapted for use in the Russian economic zones. The theory was as follows; Areas which surround the capital (core region), usually rich in one material or another, would be used for the extraction of raw materials. These materials would then be shipped back to the capital in order to be manufactured into goods. From there, the manufactured products would be shipped back to the surrounding regions (periphery region) for resale. The citizens of Russia were surviving on this system, but barely. The Core-Periphery policy was not efficient, nor effective, for usually a product needed on one side of the federation, was produced at the other end. Factors such as transportation costs and adequate use of human resources was very inefficient and cost-consuming. Strong influences from the world urged Russia to make the transition into the market-oriented economy. This seemed tempting, for the market-oriented economy preached individual wealth and prosperity. Seeing no better solution to their current economic woes, Russian policy-makers took the plunge.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  By 1995, 4 years since the beginning of the transition into a market- oriented economy, no satisfactory economic improvment had taken form. Productivity in many states such as Turkmenistan and Belarus continued to fall (Table 2), and inflation was still at high levels. Many new Russian capitalists in the regions chose to exploit what had already been exploited in the past; raw materials. Looking to make a fast income, these new Russian capitalists sold whatever they could get their hands on, for practically no cost at all (Co- Existence, 146). Expropriation of state property, shady deals, and corruption were rampant. Productivity in industries such as agriculture declined as farmers did not want to take care of their land (Co-Existence, 146).

Personality development, the concept that personality is affected Essay

Personality is the particular combination of emotional, attitudinal, and behavioral response patterns of an individual. Some ideas in the psychological and scientific study of personality include: Personality changes Personality development, the concept that personality is affected by various sources Personality disorder Personality genetics, a scientific field that examines the relation between personality and genetics Personality pathology, characterized by adaptive inflexibility, vicious cycles of maladaptive behavior, and emotional instability under stress Personality psychology, the theory and study of individual differences, traits, and types Personality quiz a series of questions (usually multiple-choice, rating scale, or True/False) intended to describe aspects of an individual’s character, thoughts, and feelings Personality style Personality systematics, among subsystems of personality as they are embedded in the entire ecological system Personality test, examples would include the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI-2), Rorschach Inkblot Test, and Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) Personality type, refers to patterns of relatively enduring characteristics of behavior that occur with sufficient frequency Personality trait, refers to enduring personal characteristics that are revealed in a particular pattern of behaviour in a variety of situation REACTION: Personality is the unique traits of an individual and may be recognized at the early stages of their life1. Personality development can thus be defined as the development of a person’s attributes that make one unique. Personality therefore reflects an individual’s psychological traits, characteristics, motives, habits, attitudes, and beliefs. Personality also displays ones reaction and interaction with other people and consists mainly of the following three components: temperament, environment, and character. Character is an individual’s entire traits or attribute that distinguishes one person from the other. The mental characteristics of an individual’s personality are the complex attributes that makes the individual unique and different from other people. These characteristics include all the patterns of thought and emotions that cause one to do and say things in particular ways. Fundamentally, personality is expressed through ones temperament tone. Personality also defines ones values, beliefs, and expectations. There are several possible factors that are involved in shaping an individual’s personality and are mostly seen as coming from a person’s heredity and the environment that they are exposed to. PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT An individual’s personality is an aggregate conglomeration of the decisions they have made throughout their life and the memory of the experiences to which these decisions led. There are inherent natural, genetic, and environmental factors that contribute to the development of our personality. According to process of socialization, â€Å"personality also colors our values, beliefs, and expectations †¦ Hereditary factors that contribute to personality development do so as a result of interactions with the particular social environment in which people live.† Personality is defined as the enduring personal characteristics of individuals. FREUD’s THEORY Drives-Freud believed that two basic drives—sex and aggression—motivate all our thoughts and behaviour. Structure of personality-Freud conceived the mind as only having a fixed amount of psychic energy (libido). Tripartite personality-Freud believed that personality had three parts—the id, ego, and super-ego—referring to this as the tripartite personality Defense mechanisms- The ego, having a difficult time trying to satisfy both the needs of the id and the superego, employs defense mechanisms. Psychosexual stages-Freud believed that at particular points in the child’s development. REACTION: Personality’ is what distinguishes you from other people – the unique attributes and qualities that make you who you are. It is an accumulation of your values and beliefs, expectations, experiences and decisions you’ve made. So the question is, what can you improve, and how will that improvement make your life better? Your beliefs are derived from your background conditioning, mostly from childhood. This conditioning happens unconsciously. Your parents, environment, social norms and expectations, experiences and other influences have shaped who you are. It’s important to realize that changing your personality is not changing â€Å"who you are† – it’s more of a software upgrade in the way you think and act, and by taking on one or two traits at a time, you make small incremental changes with a huge payoff. Underneath it all, you’re still the wonderful you, only with a higher, more attractive-to-good-things vibration. Personality psychology â€Å"Personality† is a dynamic and organized set of characteristics possessed by a person that uniquely influences his or her cognitions, emotions, motivations, and behaviors in various situations. The word â€Å"personality† originates from the Latin persona, which means mask. In the theatre of the ancient Latin-speaking world, the mask was not used as a plot device to disguise the identity of a character, but instead was a convention employed to represent or typify that character. Personality also refers to the pattern of thoughts, feelings, social adjustments, and behaviors consistently exhibited over time that strongly influences one’s expectations, self-perceptions, values, and attitudes. It also predicts human reactions to other people, problems, and stress. there are many different theories of personality, the first step is to understand exactly what is meant by the term personality. A brief definition would be that personality is made up of the characteristic patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviors that make a person unique. In addition to this, personality arises from within the individual and remains fairly consistent throughout life. Some of the fundamental characteristics of personality include: Consistency – There is generally a recognizable order and regularity to behaviors. Essentially, people act in the same ways or similar ways in a variety of situations. Psychological and physiological – Personality is a psychological construct, but research suggests that it is also influenced by biological processes and needs. It impacts behaviors and actions – Personality does not just influence how we move and respond in our environment; it also causes us to act in certain ways. Multiple expressions – Personality is displayed in more than just behavior. It can also be seen in our thoughts, feelings, close relationships and other social interactions. Theories of Personality There are a number of different theories about how personality develops. Different schools of thought in psychology influence many of these theories. Some of these major perspectives on personality include: Type theories are the early perspectives on personality. These theories suggested that there are a limited number of â€Å"personality types† which are related to biological influences. Trait theories viewed personality as the result of internal characteristics that are genetically based. Psychodynamic theories of personality are heavily influenced by the work of Sigmund Freud, and emphasize the influence of the unconscious on personality. Psychodynamic theories include Sigmund Freud’s psychosexual stage theory and Erik Erikson’sstages of psychosocial development. Behavioral theories suggest that personality is a result of interaction between the individual and the environment. Behavioral theorists study observable and measurable behaviors, rejecting theories that take internal thoughts and feelings into account. Behavioral theorists include B. F. Skinner and John B. Watson. Humanist theories emphasize the importance of free will and individual experience in the development of personality. Humanist theorists include Carl Rogers and Abraham Maslow. REACTION: Personality PSYCHOLOGY is a characteristics possessed by a person that influences his or her cognitions, emotions, motivations and behaviors in various situation. It is a unique combination of these characteristics provides the basic foundation of who you are and makes up the personality that your friends and family have come to like (and dislike!).There are many theories under personality psychology. Personality is something that arises from within and remains quite consistent throughout life, but the environment and the situation play an important role in determining how different aspects of your personality are expressed. There are four fundamental characteristics of personality. First, it is constant and people tend to behave in the same way when they encounter similar situations. Second, personality not only influences actions, but it also actually causes people to behave in specific ways. Third, personality is influenced by both psychological and biological factors. Finally, personality is expressed not only in behaviors, but through emotions, thoughts, social behavior, and close relationships. How the world perceives you is a direct reflection of and reaction to how you present yourself to them. Race, age, and gender are qualities you have no control over, but certainly contribute to your personality because of how the world perceives you based on these features. A person who continuously experiences racial discrimination may guard himself against it by at first seeming cold and unfriendly. But once he opens up, you may discover someone completely different inside.Dig a little deeper, and the private aspect of your being appears: dreams too bizarre to discuss; experiences too sentimental to reveal; fantasies that may seem childish to others; goals, standards, and morals you aspire to; daily internal dialogue, thoughts, and ideas — all of these elements make up the â€Å"you† that only you truly know. And only you can decide when to share these parts of your personality with others

Health: Exercise and Life Essay

1.English language in my life. Nowadays English is the international language of human speech, either spoken or written all over the world. Language itself is the most common system of communication which allows people to talk to each other and to write their thoughts and ideas. And it is the only one reason why English is important in our life. It means that there are a lot of other reasons. Firstly, learning a foreign language increases your range of communication. For example, if you speak only English, you can communicate with over 400 million other persons. If you also learn Spanish, you could speak to any of the 297 million Spanish-speaking people in Latin America, Spain, and other parts of the world. Secondly,by learning another language, you get knowledge of the customs and ways of life of their nations. While learning French, you find out how French people live, behave, and think. And finally,a foreign language can help and add to your knowledge of your own language. For example, by studying Latin, you can improve your understanding of the thousands of English words that have their roots in Latin. So, I think that if a person have reasons to learn English he can learn it everywhere. And there are some often used ways how to do it. Firstly, you can learn English at school, where teachers can help you with your pronunciation skills . Secondly, you can learn it by travelling and speaking with native people of this language. For example, you can visit the UK or The USA where all people speak English. And finally, It seems to me that it will be good to attend special cources, at which you can deepen your knowledge at this language. But also, also you can learn English at home. And there are several ways how to do it very effectively Firstly, you can use tape recorders, which permit students to listen, repeat, erase their own repetition and then try again. Secondly,I think that videotape can realy helps in studying language because it lets students watch their mouth movements. And finally It seems to that computers can halp to study English because it can correct student’s translation of words and phrases on a video display screen. So, these language study aids provide not only instruction and practice, but also self-instruction, because they can be used without a teacher. As for me I learn English at school. I have 5 different classes and 3 teachers of English. The first is homereading were we read a lot, retell and analyse different texts. The second is Country Stusying where we learn the history of Great Britain and the USA. The third is Grammer where the teacher teaches us the Grammer of the English language. The forth is writing where we study how to write letters to our penfriends. And the last one is Practice of English. I think that tt is very interesting class because there I try to express my own opinion about different things. It seems to me that all these lessons are very important because they can help me to deepen my knowledge of English. So, English plays an improtant role in my life not only because that it can help to communicate with people from other countries but also because it can help to know more about other cultures, traditions and habits. 2.health is the best than wealth â€Å"Health is wealth† and Health is better than wealth† are well-known and oft repeated sayings. These underline a vital fact of life. Without good health nothing is of much use. If any sensible person is asked what he would prefer, health or wealth. He would immediately answer ‘health’. Without good health and physical fitness life would become a burden and a tasteless thing. Those who are sick, ill or weak in health are found dejected, nervous, hopeless and without any zest for life and its activities. He who has health and a fit body has hope, inspiration and so everything in fife. Health goes far, even farther than wealth and any other thing in life. It is a sure key to success. Without physical fitness and good health nothing good or substantial can be achieved. Only the healthy citizens, and men and women make a healthy and happy nation. Only healthy people can work hopefully, steadily, constantly and at people can work hopefully, steadily, constantly and at their best, to achieve better and better results. Again, it is only a healthy man or woman who can desire and strive for perfection. Weak men can never make good citizens, leaders, businessmen, soldiers or a brave people. Healthy minds reside in healthy bodies. Men and women indifferent to their health cannot either be intelligent or make good artists, poets, public servants and useful members of the society. Most of the great and successful men and women owe their success to their outdoor physical activities, playing habits and exercise in their youth. Their athletic habits, cultivated in their youth, always stood them in good stead later in life. Consequently, they always possessed sound health and mind, leading them to the crowning glory. Their mental vigor, exuberance of thoughts, vivacity and enthusiasm for work came from their robust health, and physical fitness, which they obtained through regular exercise, game and sports, long walks, swimming, horse-riding, yogic postures and such other activities. The way to health, happiness and success lies through physical work, exercise and animal robustness. Therefore, look to your health, if you have it; praise your luck and stars. If you do not have it, then ponder we over your life-style and try to develop athletic habits. Go to your garden, grasp a spade and engage yourself in digging or wood-cutting. Run a mile early in the morning, play some game like football, volley ball or badminton, and you will soon regain your health and energy. And these in their turn will fill your life with a new hope and meaningfulness. Every man and woman should undertake some physical work or exercise regularly. It is the sound body that brings sound mind with it. It was in the playgrounds of Eton school that the battle of Waterloo was actually won and Napoleon defeated. The toughness acquired in the school playground was turned to good account in the battlefield. It is such physical activities as wrestling, boating, cricketing, sporting, and playing games and exercise which promote national health and strength. The player or a sports-prison who would win races honorably must have an honorable and successful career. To do one’s work cheerfully and well. Every man and woman should possess a good constitution, and this can be got only by daily exercise in the open air. Physical education should be an integral part of education and training in our schools, colleges and universities. Physical fitness is a must for everybody. It is in the very young age that athletic habits and. love for physical work and exercise should be developed. The best time to have physical exercise is early in the morning and late in the evening. It is heartening to note that yogic exercises, postures etc., have been introduced in our schools and colleges. Through yogic exercises we can develop both our minds and bodies. These exercises are very scientific and time- tested and goes a long way in facing and eliminating stresses, tensions and worries of modern materialistic life. Yoga, the oldest science of life, teaches us how to work, rest, relax and breathe to maintain good health and mental capacities. Yogic asana and postures help us lubricate the body-machine, keep the muscles and joints running smoothly, tone all the internal organs and increase blood circulation without causing any fatigue. Our body is like a perfect and subtle machine that needs proper maintenance, care and running. Anyone can practice Yoga and maintain his health and peace of mind. People who do not take regular exercise or do Yogic postures easily fall sick. Many of our modern diseases like obesity, diabetes, blood-pressure, mental tension, rheumatism, piles etc., have their roots in our lethargy, comfortable living, ease and convenience of life. They can be very easily checked and eliminated by taking daily physical exercise. Lethargy and inactivity, coupled with easy living, make our body an easy victim of diseases. From the very young age the boys and girls should be properly trained in physical fitness and exercises. They should be helped to cultivate and develop athletic habits. It may be repeated once again that physical fitness is imperative and should not be neglected. It is high time that we pay more attention and use greater resources to develop and promote national physical standards. We should create a harmonious atmosphere where the body is given no less importance than the mind, because without physical powers there cannot be any mental power. Physical exercise, taken regularly, works like a wonderful tonic both for mind and body. But there should be moderation and there should not be too much of it. Neglect of exercise is as bad and injurious as the overdose of it. 3.Parents are the best teachers.. Obviously, the first teachers we have in our lives in most cases are our parents. They teach us to speak, walk, ride a bike, behave ourselves etc. From my everyday experience and observation I can totally agree with the statement that parents are the best teachers. In the following paragraphs I will try to support my answer with some reasons and examples. First of all, I would say that parents are our very first teachers. They with great patience pass down the essential knowledge that we need in order to join ‘the real world’. Children often copy their parents’ habits and traits because children are sure that parents do only right things. Often children’s first wish is to be like their mother of father. Parents are the best teachers because they wish their children to be successful and they do not teach them bad things. However, in order to succeed in today’s world children need more than just to know good manners and be able to read and write. They need real teachers who would teach them logic, mathematics, literature, foreign language, management etc. Moreover, they need to communicate with the children of the same age. Adolescence is a period when children learn more from their friends then from their parents. At this age many young people reject their parents’ advices and warnings. They begin to learn from their own experience, make conclusions and analyze their first mistakes. It is very important for parents in this period to be supportive and patient. Children may slam door and refuse to do some things because they want to feel independence. Another important aspect of this is that parents are the first people who must warn their children about the danger of drugs and cigarettes and how to avoid and say ‘No’ when they need to. In the modern world parents must talk with their children about everything because it can save their life and make them happier. So, the role of parents is really important because it gives the strength and understanding the real world. In conclusion, I think that parents are the best teachers because they give their knowledge that can not be taken from books when it needs to be known by children. 4.Texnology Nowadays, technology plays an essential role in our modern life. A simple example of technology we can see is internet, many people can’t live without internet just a day. If you want t osearch information, you can use google tool, if you want to chat with your friends, your relatives, etc. you have yahoo messenger, etc. Technology can be applied in transportation. Without transportation, countries can’t develop. But as the result, people don’t want to change their life. So do changes make life better or easier ? Should people change their normal life ? I think that first of all, changes give you many new opportunities. For example, few years ago, I like to live in small town, but then I decided to move to a big city. At first, I felt hard to be familiar with this new environment but day by day, I recognized that big city gave me chance to meet many people, widen my relationships, work in a big company, and have good salary, etc. I think that first you can see changing is very hard and you have to do many things that you haven’t done before, but that’s a way you can improve yourselves. Second, changes maybe give you a new life, open a new world for you to discover. Many people think that they live in convenient world with updated technology so they don’t need anything else, they don’t need changes. But I think that it’s wrong opinion because technology has been developed by humans, it can’t be developed itself, if everybody just know how to use technology, satisfy with what they have thing world will never be better. Technology is just a tool for us to make life easier but if you just make some changes to your normal life, it will be better. My brother is an example. Just last year, he still worked all day with his computer because he was a computering engineer, he came home late at night after a tired working day and slept. But now, he changed. He has a good schedule of working and relaxing time. He works better because he doesn’t feel tired of working day by day without rest.. He has time to travel wherever he wants, meets many new friends, and just two weeks ago, a company invited him to be a manager, with very high salary. You see, just small changes can give you a new aspect of life. Last but not least, I think that changes can’t give you all better things, sometimes, it gives you many problems and abrupt things. For example, your relatives and your friends maybe can’t adapt to your sudden changes and react in bad way, your life becomes messy, etc. But I think that every thing has two aspects : positive and negative ones. We just need to believe in our decision and everything will be fine. Changes are just a way for us to improve our recognition to our life, our world; we can be more balancing when facing with abrupt problems. 5.Advantages & Disadvantages of Electronic Books  Electronic books, or e-books, are a relatively new development, and are far from realizing their vast potential for changing the way people read. Most of the advantages of electronic books, such as the fact that they save paper, will continue to offer benefits as the technology evolves. Many of the disadvantages, such as the lack of a unified platform for downloading content, will probably become less problematic as the industry develops. Environmental Advantages * Electronic books save trees. By downloading an electronic book rather than buying a hard copy of a book, you eliminate the need to print on paper. Even recycled paper uses more resources than an electronic book. In addition, electronic books save the energy and resources that it takes to print conventional books, as well as the fuel that is required to deliver them. Convenience Advantages * Electronic books offer a range of conveniences, which will continue to expand as the technology develops. Because the content of an e-book is delivered electronically to your device or computer, you can shop for e-books and receive them almost immediately, any time of the day or night. In addition, electronic books provide the convenience of having multiple books available at any given time, without the trouble of having to transport them. This is particularly advantageous when traveling: rather than carrying a suitcase full of books, you can carry a suitcase worth of titles on a single device. Availability Disadvantages * Many titles that are available in traditional print books are not yet available in an electronic book format. This problem is compounded by the fact that as of 2010, the electronic books on the market are manufactured and licensed by different companies, each of which has access to its own range of titles. Many mainstream best sellers are available in electronic format, but if you tend to read even slightly more exotic titles or academic literature, you will not be able to find much suitable material in e-book format at present. Technological Disadvantages * As of 2010, electronic books still present a variety of technological problems that need to be solved. Reading e-books can create eye strain because it is more difficult to read words on a computer screen than on a page. Devices made specifically for reading e-books present other issues. Some models do not come with replaceable batteries. As a result, you must replace the entire device when the battery dies. 6.the advantages of reading books

Mid Career Professional Working Mothers Essay Example

Mid Career Professional Working Mothers Essay Example Mid Career Professional Working Mothers Essay Mid Career Professional Working Mothers Essay The increasing figure of working female parents, over past old ages, has increased force per unit areas for them as they confront intending in work, household and personal life ( Grady A ; McCarthy, 2008 ) . Work-life integrating seems to be hard for professional female parents due to increased force per unit areas. They non merely necessitate to make significance in their work, household, personal life by egos but they besides need support at work topographic point by the employer. The support by the employer at work topographic point towards integrating of work, household and self leads towards self-fulfillment and satisfaction which have positive result for them and finally for employer ( Auster, 2001 ) . The absence of the support by the employer may take to the troubles for the professional female parents. The work intensification and long hours, coupled with kid rise uping demands consequence in emphasis and labour turn over ( Jones A ; McKenna, 2002 ) . The intent of this survey is to research the issues, jobs and experiences of mid-career professional female parents sing work-life integrating in Faisalabad, Pakistan. How the most prevalent household systems in Pakistan, articulation and atomic ( Ahamad, 2002 ) , affect them. The survey examines what type of hinderance they face and what type of support they need at work topographic point every bit good as from the household. Now in Pakistan, huge section of the society based on adult females can non be denied the adult females s position, liberty and equality in playing a function in societal, economic chances and state edifice ( Amir, 2004, conference paper ) . Concerns about the economic system and every bit good due to the alterations occurred in adult female s aspirations has increased the adult females as work force as neer before ( Ahamad, 2002 ) . Harmonizing to labour force study 2010, adult females s employment rate increased by 1.7 % as mentioned above. The focal point is on mid-career professional working female parents because they are in the phase of calling when a batch of attending is required by their household and every bit good for constructing their professional calling. Professional working female parents are defined as those female parents, who manage, develop and put their professional calling throughout the period of rise uping their household ( Grady A ; McCarthy, 2008 ) . Work-life integrating Work and non-work are mutualist and the persons have to play functions at the same time or to exchange often from one function to the other ( Wilson et al. , 2004 ) . Work function is the professional responsibilities assigned by the organisation and non work includes household or domestic responsibilities have to execute for household. Central thought of this research paper is work life integrating. Work-life integrating is defined that how professional workers incorporate the responsibilities at work topographic point accompanied with the domestic responsibilities along ego demands. This belief gained a batch of attractive force in the past decennary ( Metz, 2005, Grady A ; McCarthy, 2008, Valimaki, Lamsa A ; Hiillos, 2009, Peeters, Wattez, Demerouti A ; Regt, 2009, Goodstein, 1994, Glass A ; Estes, 1997, Auster, 2001, Jones A ; McKenna, 2002, Karatepe, 2009, Wilson et al. , 2004 A ; Burke, 2004 ) . With rise of industrialisation, the agricultural theoretical account is now r eplaced, the conventional function of adult females expected to take attention of the kids and work forces as staff of life victor is traveling to be changed ( Valimaki, Lamsa A ; Hiillos, 2009, Grady A ; McCarthy ) . Employees need to face the work and non-work functions matching. Dissolution, intervention and struggle between the functions may take to perturb, fire out, emotional exhaustion ( Grady A ; McCarthy, 2008 A ; Peeters, Wattez, Demerouti A ; Regt, 2009 ) , negative wellness result dissatisfaction and emotional disagreement ( Karatepe, 2009 ) . The work-family struggle is considered bi-directional ( Cohen, 2009, p. 814 ) . Pull offing multiple undertakings at a clip may take towards struggles from work to household life and from household to work life ( Kirrane A ; Monks, 2004 ) . Sense of equilibrium may make by positive spillover, enrichment and facilitation ( Glass A ; Estes, 1997, Valimaki, Lamsa A ; Hiillos, 2009 ) . On the other manus adult females entrywa y in work force in last two decennaries at an precedent gait ( Auster,2001 ) , resulted dual-earner and in low spread between male and female ( Ahamad, 2002 ) . Females need support from household system and partner to do an appropriate assimilation ( Valimaki, Lamsa A ; Hiillos, 2009 ) . The household system and work-life integrating for mid-career adult females It has been proposed that a professional adult females s calling is hard to be examined without analyzing her non-work life household system and partner ( Powell A ; Mainiero, 1992 ) . Family, a smallest unit of a society composed of two or more people who are interconnected by matrimony, blood or acceptance, live together from an economic unit, has basic characteristics of sharing and togetherness ( Ahamad, 2002 ) . Two types of family systems, dominant in Pakistan, joint household system, in which adult females with her hubby and kids lives with in-laws, and the atomic household system, in which a adult female individually lives with her hubby and kids ( Amir, 2004 ) . A freshly married working adult female prefers to populate in atomic household system but in child bearing phase this system jeopardizes her life ( Aamir, 2004 ) . Due to the deficiency of twenty-four hours attention centres and undependable retainers and amahs may do it hard for the on the job professional female parents to take attention of their dependent kids peculiar in mid-career. In such instance joint household system becomes the bosom favourite of working professional female parents ( Aamir, 2004 ) , which may ease and may take attention of their kids, in their working hours. Woman marries the whole household and she is answerable to other household members ( Ahamad,2004 ) , tough duties are on her shoulders, specifically in joint system, leads towards heavy load when adult female is working as professional and every bit good as an economic manus of her spouse. In such instance adult female may experience disagreement and may prefer atomic system where figure of dependants are less, she needs support from her partner and work topographic point to go on her professional calling. Modern life is prima towards alteration in functions of adult females and work forces due to uninterrupted alterations in economic and demographic tendencies ( Ahamad, 2002 ) The per centum of married twosomes increased in old decennaries, in which both partners worked full clip, a partner or a spouse can supply basic support, include sharing place, rearing duties, promoting calling development, interpersonal support needed by working adult females ( Gordon A ; Whelan-Berrry, 2004 ) . After go throughing twenty-four hours long activity at workplace may do a on the job adult females exhausted and do it thorny for her to take attention of kids along family responsibilities. In such instance professional working adult females peculiar in mid-career, where household demands with kid rise uping are increasing accompanied with calling growing. It may go hard to integrate both without support from household and work topographic point. In some instances, household and partner do non ease wo rking adult females but sometimes do truly back up ( Karatepe, 2009 ) . Working professional female parent may be from Joint household system or atomic household system, necessitate ample support. It may impact in work-life integrating. By sharing common involvements a flexible partner enables working adult female to pull off their calling and integrate work and household lives successfully ( Valimaki, Lamsa A ; Hiillos, 2009 ) , particularly in mid-career where calling has already established and adult females are beyond the parenting of babies and yearlings, happening new challenges in work and personal involvement ( Gordon A ; Whelan-Berrry, 2004 A ; Grady A ; McCarthy, 2008 ) . Therefore, literature indicates when adult females are in their mid-career, face challenges sing work-life integrating while sing new chances in promotion of their calling, they need to be supported by work topographic point and household system, either joint or atomic household system. Professional working female parents strive to incorporate across the spheres and to minimise the spread. This research paper aims to research the spread that how professional working female parents create balance refering work, household and single egos ; and how household system affects this integrating? The undermentioned subdivision indicates research methods used in the current survey to turn to these research inquiries. The content analysis was the attack used to analyse the information ( Bryman A ; Bell, 2003 ) . The qualitative responses were collected, grouped and the construct was examined through the organized analysis of the record. The figure below presents the content analysis model that was derived. Framework led four capable affairs along with four research inquiries. Further integrating of work is illustrated by integrating values and kernel of balance. Concluding column indicates the responses of the participants towards inquiries Three of the participants had four kids ; nine of the females accompanied three childs and eight of the respondents possessed two kids and two females had 1 kid. Seven of the females were populating in joint-family system, three of which lived with merely mother-in jurisprudence and father-in jurisprudence, and other four were populating with other relations as good. Fifteen of the participants lived in atomic system. One of the females had babies and the kids of other adult females were school-aged or above but at least had one independent kid. The adult females possessed work experience between 8 to 22 old ages. The targeted sectors were medical, instruction, make-up industry, telecommunication, nursing and research officers including both public, private and semi-government organisations along with self-employment. Four targeted interviewees were physicians had specialisation in different Fieldss, work experience autumn from 9 to 20 old ages. Two of the participants were Ph.D. phy sicians, fell under the class of research officers ; eight of the respondents were from instruction field were working as instructors, by and large owned maestro s grade, every bit good had some completed short-courses relevant to the Fieldss. Three of the contestants were selected from telecommuting, two from Bankss and one from beauty salon, preserved 10 to 18 old ages experience and possessed different relevant short classs. Nine of the adult females included, were form private organisations, five were from authorities or public organisations, five were from semi-government and three were the freelance. One of the respondents, had the nationality of Pakistan but lived 10 old ages in Madinah, Saudi Arabia and worked as lector in the Madinah University, Saudi Arabia for ten old ages, and shifted to Faisalabad for last five old ages and running her ain school. Self-perception in relation to work and household functions The findings point out that when the household roles every bit good as work functions spill over each other, the figure one precedence professional working female parents gave to their kids. It is apparent from the interviews that females were really disturbed and stressed at their work, sing their kids. Womans miss their kids at workplace. All adult females became really emotional when they talked about their kids. They are non ready to make compromise over their kids. The working female parents focused on giving a quality clip to their kids. The undermentioned statements are the evident of the manner of thought of female parents: Bing a female parent, my kids are my figure one precedence. I will neer allow my kids neglected due to my calling. I have a wish to prosecute my calling along with executing the responsibilities related to my kids as a female parent. As a female parent, my childs were my chief concern. I ever tried to give them a quality clip instead than a measure clip. Self employed respondents were flexible in their on the job conditions. They were non bound for any one s order. Such adult females indicated that the ground for their being self employed was their kids. They said that it was hard for them to give an appropriate clip to their kids. I am freelance and running my ain school. I rare feel to do an accommodation hard between kids and my calling. In instance of any accident or illness of kid it is easy for me to take a leave. All adult females had intense feeling of maternity. But some adult females responded that their work as a stimulating factor for them. Females pointed out themselves much active due to their occupations and considered them as idle without occupation. They had more challenges in their lives so they worked difficult and struggled more to carry through. They identified them as more originative in contrast to non-professional adult females. In the start of my calling, I found it difficult to make a balance between work and household. But now I feel myself uncomplete without my occupation. In off yearss I feel myself really lazy and idle. I even do nt rinse my face and take bath as I do nt hold to travel at work. My work creates appeal in my life. Work related factors: Two-way flexibleness is really important issue in concern organisations. If employers give flexibleness to the employees working in an organisation, the employees besides put more committedness over at that place. Parental leaves, pregnancy foliages, flexible working hours, carer s leave, job-sharing, may fall under the class of flexible related factors. Flexibility is really of import. I am here ; the ground is the cooperation from my co-workers at workplace. As yesterday, I had to go to female parent s meeting of my younger kid. My employer allow me to travel. As a consequence, today I am seting my maximal part. I am a physician but alternatively of making pattern I am learning at medical college and I got flexibleness from the organisation to pick my kids from their school. My kids are rather happy and I am besides contented due to that flexibleness. Some adult females pointed out that they had to endure a batch because of inflexibleness of the organisation ; sometimes it became so hard for them to run their calling during child bearing period. I am an employee of a private organisation. During my calling I thought many times to go forth the occupation due to inflexibleness from my organisation specifically during my kid bearing phase, I of all time got unpaid pregnancy leaves for merely one month. At that phase I became so defeated due to my kid attention and had wished to hit the employer. From old decennary the working tendency of the adult females is increasing and as a consequence, societal, behavioural and attitudinal alterations are besides emerging. In Pakistan, it was considered unusual for the adult females to travel out of their places for the interest of gaining beside their hubbies. Now-a-days male co-workers portion the duties and contribute to the work with their female co-workers alternatively of viing with them. I have been working from 18 old ages. At start of my calling, my neighbours, relations, and my male co-workers watched me in an unworldly manner, but now at the phase of my mid-career my equal group specifically included work forces are really concerted towards me. Without engagement of adult females, it s non easy to bear fiscal disbursals merely by male. Now society is more civilised and it is accepting this world. Women merely considered them responsible for their calling. They frequently had to disregard many chances merely due to their household and kid related jobs. Womans were non willing to go forth the metropolis due to their household and partner. I received much flexibleness from my old organisation at Lahore. I was at the promotional phase in that unit of organisation. But in instance of my hubby s publicity in Faisalabad I had to compromise and to go forth that unit of organisation and made it possible my transportation in other unit of that specific organisation in Faisalabad. Now I have to divert from my smooth calling way. I have left many chances offered by organisation. I do nt desire to go as portion of top direction because I do nt desire to bear load of work more it may do to upset my household. Unifying work and household system: As research grounds showed that professional working female parents have much feelings of maternity and every bit good they had identified the demand to come in professional Fieldss. Womans have to go forth the occupation due to negative spillover of work and household functions ; they have to go forth their occupations ( Glass A ; Estes, 1997 ) . There is high importance for them to unify work within their household systems. As indicated before that two most prevailing household systems are joint and atomic. Professional working females, as portion of joint system, pointed that this type of household system showed cooperation with them in their calling way. I have been working from 14 old ages. I have neer felt any type of job sing my kid attention. I leave my kids at place and their grandma takes attention of them in a best mode. My kids are more confident and bold as compared to my relations whose female parents are non working. Whenever I go home after completion of occupation, the happy faces of my kids make me fresh. All recognition goes to my mother-in-law. I love her. I do nt hold any job sing my kids attention. I neer felt any demand of kid attention centre here because our joint household system is the best option of such twenty-four hours attention centres. I may neer experience assurance over the retainers and amahs as I have trust in my in-laws. Some adult females indicated that they had to endure due to joint household system because of the load of excess duties and domestic responsibilities. Joint household system hinders smooth career way of professional working adult females. Due to a big sum of domestic duties I lost many chances. Financial disbursals besides increases and I have to give a large part of my wage to my in-laws. Respondents who lived in atomic household system mentioned a batch of jobs sing their work and household integrating. They mentioned jobs sing their kid attention and to execute a batch of domestic responsibilities by egos. Working adult females needed a concerted partner. I have to disregard my kids when I come to work. I forget work when I reach at place. I wish to hold a joint household system at least my kids may be in a place to acquire safety and security because I ca nt trust on amahs. My hubby s calling is really of import and he can non take leave for kids. It is besides apparent that the working female parents, who lived in a atomic system, did nt compromise on their callings. They did nt hold any duties and jumping from other household members. They indicated much satisfaction because they did nt necessitate to reply anybody. I am grateful to God that I live in atomic household system, I am really happy in my Eden where there is no intervention from typical female parent, male parent, sister and brother in-laws. I am non answerable in forepart of anybody sing my actions except my concerted hubby. Support from partner/ partners were identified as a cardinal component for professional working female parents. A research worker adult female pointed that she was nil without the support from her hubby because a supportive hubby shared the domestic functions every bit good. Today I am here due to my hubby s support. During my child bearing period I did my Ph.D. related to my field. I did work at place and my hubby made it possible to analyze my work from my supervisor consecutively. My hubby is really concerted in constructing my calling. Even he does cooking if I am non at that place. It was reported by all participants that they may merely go on their calling if support from their households were at that place. Joint household system was supportive for household exigency clip and kids attention. Research indicated those adult females who fell under the class of atomic household system, pointed that they were nil without their hubby s support. Because there was no 1 at place, work as assisting manus in malice of their partners. Integration of work, household and personal ego: Increasing tendency of working female parents from the last decennary indicated that adult females were in their mid-career. There felt a demand to pull off work household and personal egos. But answering showed that this phase of mid-career they to the full focused towards household and work and had forgotten themselves, which is supported by following statement of a gynaecologist ; Work and household come at first. My profession does non allow me to disregard it. I have to stay watchful at all times. In such instance I find no clip for myself. Last twenty-four hours I came to workplace and my coworkers pointed that I was have oning shirt from the incorrect side. The participant adult females showed that they are seeking for their values in their lives because at this clip of mid-career the fiscal issues were about solved and compensation programs are non plenty. Their kids have besides grown up and attention for kids become easier. The adult females at their mid-career seek intent of their lives, their demands are altering. They mentioned that they had past a batch of clip with their work and household now they feel need for ego attention. The undermentioned statement proves these positions: In the start, my hubby s wage was really low, unable to carry through our fiscal disbursals ; I pursued myself towards my calling as right manus of my hubby. That was tough clip when my kids required clip from my side. But now I have no job sing kids attention or any fiscal issue. It s now clip to concentrate on me. In summarized signifier, it is proved from the findings of the whole survey that working professional female parents interplay the functions of work and household along with single egos. Family balance is achieved through the possible, appropriate program, household system, and workplace flexibleness and a web of support. Large proportion of respondents perceived that joint household system helped them for carry throughing calling and a sense of accomplishment. In the start career the most part of the clip, they devoted for work and household. But now in mid-career, self-balance gained a batch of importance. Discussion and decision This survey explored the experiences of mid-career professional working female parents building integrating between work, household and egos in the context of Faisalabad, Pakistan. It is examined that how household systems included joint and atomic, impact them and their calling. How these professional working female parents made integrating in malice of batch of challenges and what support they require from household system. The lives of professional working female parents are really important. They need to run their household and kids as figure one precedence along with important concern for their calling. Mid-career professional working female parents experienced a long clip period of clip for their work. They created quality in their work, which motivated them for the self-realization. Harmonizing to Warner and Hausdorf ( 2009 ) work-family support negatively affects the person s emphasis and leads to satisfaction in different facets of life, household every bit good as the occup ation while heightening more commitment towards their workplace. That s why working professional female parents leads towards the sense of accomplishment. Now organisations are fighting to better understand the factors, affect the fulfilment of this ever-growing demographic type of mid-career who is filled with intelligence and experience ( Ellen R. Auster and Karen L. Ekstein, 2004 ) . The being of flexible on the job conditions and flexible working hours are reported as favourable for the working female parents. Schedule flexibleness is a boundary-spanning resource that helps workers carry through both their work and household duties ( Carlson, Grzywacz A ; Kacmar, 2010, p. 331 ) . Organizational policies are required to include flex options, for professional working female parents. Womans and work forces peculiarly who are married, as comparison to individual work forces and adult females are more interested in flex-options like occupation alternate or calling option options ( Ronald J. Burke,1996 ) . Working female parents are considered as more responsible for their child care as compared to their partners. Working female parents are obligate to execute household responsibilities along with pull offing the functions at the workplace. The answerability of both spheres leads to the superior challenges. The achievement in one sphere frequently leads to the succ ess in the other sphere ( Grady A ; McCarthy, 2008 ) . Miss match-up of both functions may do strain or exhaustion among them. The proper incorporation of both functions is plausible with the judicial admission of flexibleness from both, work and household. The aid from the partner and workplace had positive consequence on the work life integrating for working female parents. The increasing figure of adult female in professional working Fieldss stimulated organisations to present more flexible options for employees. Work/life benefits refer to plans and policies designed to assist employees pull off the viing demands of life, work, and household ( Thompson A ; Aspinwall, 2009, p. 196 ) . These flexible chances or work-life balance constabularies assist a working female to unify the spheres, profession and household ( Lewis A ; Humbert, 2010 ) . Women under flex-options find it easy to unify both spheres ; household and work life. If one sphere interferes other so struggle may h appen. Women incorporate both spheres, find solutions of jobs through web and support and salvage them from psychological upsets. The concomitant of both spheres might consequences in the family-work, enrichment. Women require a assisting manus for them to get the better of their work and domestic responsibilities at place. Women face a tough occupation while populating in atomic household system, while joint household system helps them to get the better of their duties. As happening besides indicated that in instance of joint system adult females s load deficiencies. And they rely on their female parent or father in-law for child care instead than an insecure amah. Women felt proud that they are in a place to pull off both spheres successfully. Organizations offer adult females opportunities of publicities towards managerial places but adult females proportion at managerial degree is still low ( Rueyling Tzeng, 2006 ) . Womans are less willing to acquire that opportunity due to double duties. Females encounter extra restraints in comparing to the males, due to the more domestic responsibilities lies on the female ( ONeil et al. , 2008 ) . Some adult females loose the chance sing their calling due to their household. Ever adult females get opportunity of some publicity from in-between to exceed direction. They deny this chance because of their household ; see as that their household will endure if they got that opportunity of calling edifice. They think that it will do to shortage of their foliages. One respondent pointed that she got a batch opportunities in organisation to better her calling but she missed due to her household. In such instance adult females analyze the cost and benefit of chance. Findingss can be explaine d by kaleidoscope calling theoretical account, bespeak how calling success can be measured differentially for each person. Working female parents besides depend for direction related calling upon their household agreements. Women continued to direction related places. Family system besides affects a batch for integrated for professional calling female parents. Work household emphasis is identified as a major job particularly for working professional adult females ( Susanna lo, Raymond rock, Catherine W. Ng, 2006 ) . In joint system adult female intensify on their in-laws. In atomic system, participants indicated to be acquire more emphasis due to over-burden. Joint system considered by participants as best option of twenty-four hours attention centres. They felt a sense of security and safety for their kids in safe custodies. Domestic responsibilities are besides identified low as comparison to atomic system. Joint system, if supportive, proved as great approval for working professional female parents. In phase of mid-career adult females s concentration identified towards their value and aim. Women s callings and lives are more holistic and that adult females step success less by corporate promotion and more by subjective steps such as personal satisfaction and growing ( Doherty A ; Manferdi, 2010, p. 140 ) . They started to research that why we live? What is chief intent of our being? At this phase all fiscal affairs have been solved. Women besides got certifications related to their calling field. Now they are in a place to take a field harmonizing their want. Womans at this degree are frequently non bound for anyone. They wanted to derive aims of their lives. They tried non merely to incorporate both spheres but their maximal focal point shifted from occupation seeking as in start now towards to career edifice and self-realization. Empirical probe found that adult females were less willing to derive any wages or money as incentive. But they required flex-options, calling e nrichment and a occupation, which help them in self-realization. Flexibilities related to child bearing and child-rearing age offered them by organisation. Flex options must be examined by organisations to assist adult females in integrating of their work, household and egos. As research showed, that adult females integrated work, household and ego to big extent. Then a sense of accomplishment they found. They found solutions of different undertakings through pull offing all fortunes. Social attitude and behaviour of people towards working adult females besides got a alteration. Peoples are prepared to confront this world. That now in high rising prices rate in Pakistan, adult females s cooperation has become obvious. Male entirely are non in a place to carry through all disbursals. Due to favourable environment a sense of kingdom created among adult females, which influenced positive impact on behaviours and increased productiveness in organisation. In such instance when proportion of adult female in population increased, rising prices rate high, adult females earnestly considered their calling. Now household along with calling has become more of import for them. Participants pointed that they of all time took it as avocation but now necessitate of clip. During research writers asked working female parents, have any suggestion for female parents in their start calling. Participants answered that foremost, adult females should go on make occupation. As in terrible state of affairs, increasing rate of adult females among population and rising prices double calling twosomes should be in field and they should go on their calling. Second, they suggested that adult females should come in occupation and should seek to incorporate work, household and ego in appropriate mode. They should fix program and policies while populating in joint household system. And they should work for deriving self-identifications. Mothers should measure their values and should make a tantrum between picks. So they can happen appropriate integrating. Current survey raises some inquiries for future research and theoretical development. Study suggests to younger female parents compare them with these mid-career adult females. These are a beginning of encouragement for them. A batch of nomenclatures are still obscured, demand is to work on work life balance. This survey suggested a socially sustainable work. It will be interesting that how work will impact on sustainability of work. A longitudinal survey may besides be good for mid calling adult females. This research is besides non without its restrictions. Qualitative surveies are frequently discussed and criticized for their concern with the peculiar at the disbursal of general ( aˆÂ ¦.. ) . The response rate from the audience was low, but, through in-depth, rich and contextual information, which was received during interviews, tried to get the better of these defects. Future on this issue quantitative survey may retroflex the findings.
